Heilsa,

Continuing review the draft of the Missile Weapon Section to the
Ansteorra Marshal's Handbook have another question.

I have built and shot golf tube arrows at Lillies Wars and the build
instructions I was working with were clear needed to make a cut in each
Tennis ball tipped golf tube along the same length as the Sling Stones.
Yes, the Tennis balls were secure to the golf tubes, but these arrows
still moved when someone stepped on them, especially the ball portion.

In Section III. ARROWS, BOLTS AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS MISSILE WEAPONS
<snip>
B. Siloflex Tube Arrows/Bolts:

<snip>
3. Shall have combat blunts that meet all Society standards of the
following type and restrictions:
a. Tennis ball securely attached to the end. A minimum of reinforced
fiber tape and 1/8 inch strong cord
must be used to secure the tennis ball. Tennis balls that are overly
firm may need to be punctured after
mounting.

The last sentence states that Tennis Balls being used as combat blunts
if overly firm may need to be punctured after mounting.

The question - there is no instructions on how much of a puncture this
should be. In other words, does the individual just take a ice pick and
poke a hole in the ball, or does this puncture required to be larger?

Whereas, the instructions are clear in:
Section D Slings:

1. Sling Stones – Shall be tennis balls wrapped in duct tape and with a
small cut in the wall of the tennis ball in
order to collapse when stepped on. The cut shall be just large enough,
approximately 1/2-inch (12.5mm) to
allow air out but not so large as to allow rocks, dirt and other debris in.
