My understanding is that while there are many in Ansteorra that would

like for simplicity to simply move within Ansteorra to the society

standard of "clear the bow" as a minimum range, there are also many who

see wisdom in having, using, and training within Ansteorra the the same

standards that are used at Gulf War.  Gulf War is currently 10 ft.<br>

I believe the plan is to first try and coordinate some discussion

between the CA Marshals and Earl Marshals of the Gulf War Kingdoms and

see if we can agree to a Clear the Bow standard for Gulf War.  In their

kingdoms Trimaris, Meridies, and Ansteorra all currently have published

10 ft minimums.  I do not believe that Gleann Abhann has ever published

a set of CA rules so they would technically default toe SCA standards. 

However if ya asked the GA folks I think they would say 10'.      <br>

If we can accomplish a clear the bow range for GW then going to that

standard within Ansteorra should be a no brainer.  If we can not make

that agreement for Gulf War then we would need to analyze it again and

determine what out best course of action would be.  Should we stay with

the Gulf War Standard and train our archers for that?  Or move to the

Society Standard?<br>

I don't think it is as simple as "lets just change it"  because we do

want to play nice with others.<br>
