Here are the missing restrictions that I am communicating to Sir Jean Paul:
Ansteorra restriction: Shafted ammo shall use UHMW with 1" of resilient
padding or Classic Baldar blunts with Society approved 100PSI or greater
siloflex or Asgard APDs.
Ansteorra restriction: Tube ammo shall use tennis ball or Omarad blunts with
1" of resilient padding.
Ansteorra restriction: Rapier CA shall be limited to 30# bows and 600IP
crossbows.
There has been discussion of dropping the Rapier CA limit to 550IP
crossbows, but I think it mostly out of unfounded fear and not actual
incidents.

I agree that it is an unfounded fear. And of course it's voodoo
physics. It's pretty easy for any good crossbow craftsman to build a
550 IP crossbow that has more punch than your average 595 IP crossbow. <br>

Btw, yes clear the bow was an intentional drop from the rules to get closer
to Society standards as the Earl Marshal has done for Armored Combat.

I like the idea of clear the bow as it is a range that everybody
should be able to accurately estimate and it is the society standard.
However I have some concerns about it's implementation and use in
Ansteorra.<br>

I think we need to keep our engagement rules in-sync with what we will
do at Gulf War. I don't want our archers in Ansteorra to be trained
for clear the bow and then go to Gulf War and then us start dragging
Ansteorran archers into Marshals Court because they are shooting people
from 2'. If we go to Clear the Bow for Gulf War then that problem
goes away but I would not go to ctb UNTIL we get agreement from other
GW kingdoms that the same convention will be used at war.<br>

The other concern I have is on the Rapier field. Are we certain that
clear the bow range is appropriate for the rapier field? What will be
use for the rapier field at Gulf War? More and more kingdoms are
starting to do rapier CA. In the past it has just mostly been
Ansteorran, the West, and Atlantia. However, Atlantia has gone to
clear-the-bow for their minimum range for CA and now they are thinking
that they want to go back to 10' for Rapier CA because of complaints
they have had. Again I think it is wise to have one standard for
minimum range here to simplify documentation, training, authorization
and to avoid confusion.<br>
