I wasn't telling you not to seek recognition, indeed that is the fun of it
for many people, just not me.  I posted that in the hope that perhaps by
looking at what you really wanted, maybe you would come to enjoy the SCA
more.

If those friends you mention look down on you, perhaps they are not really
friends?  A friend is someone who knows everything there is to know about
you and likes you ANYWAY.  A red scarf will not make someone believe in you,
and I think you know that inside, really.

I don't know where you are, but if you are going to Festival of Japan, feel
free to look me up.  I could always use another friend, and I promise you
that who you are is the most important thing to me.  I'll be the guy on the
crutches, and fencing out of a chair in the tourney.  Not hard to miss.

I won't lie to you and tell you that I believe in you, after all,  I don't
know you yet.  However I really was surprised at your response and must say
that I seriously respect your ability to look at yourself so critically.  I
hope to meet you around someday.
