Please feel free to forward this email as you see fit.

Gwenneth and I are leaving tomorrow morning for Pennsic. As I am winding
down for the night, ready to head to bed to prepare for the long drive, I
received a phone call. HL Eleanor informs me that Master Don Iolo Fitzowen,
newest Lion of Ansteorra, and my master...

has been kicked out of Pennsic. Apparently he was approached today by one
of the owners of Coopers Lake, accompanied by a Marshall. She informed him
that because he was having customers shoot boffer quarrels at the side of
the pavillion to demonstrate the crossbows, he was being kicked off site.
When Iolo offered to stop the practice, as he did not know it was illegal,
she produced the paperwork to kick him out, already filled out. Iolo has
been going to Pennsic, selling crossbows, and having people shoot the side
of the pavillion for 17 years. He has been in the same spot in the market
for at least the last 9 that I know of. He is currently on his way home.

As those who know me are aware of, I am not one to be short of words...but
this...I am speechless. This is insane. I have no idea what to do, or who
to complain to, but this is...rediculous. No warning, no appeal. Simply
get out. Iolo apparently says he will no longer go to Pennsic, and I can
hardly blame him.

Gwenneth and I leave tomorrow morning. I will not be able to answer email
til our return. But I thought that people should know about

In service to Crown and Kingdom, I remain,
Lord Avery Shaw
Apprentice to Master Don Iolo Fitzowen
Cadet to Baron Don Aubrey de Baudricourt

"I thoroughly disapprove of duels. I consider them unwise and I know they
are dangerous. Also, sinful. If a man should challenge me, I would take him
kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet retired spot and
kill him."
