[Ansteorra-rapier] Proposed revision to rapier rules

Again, then we are saying that we will need to require marshals to carry
around an extra blade for instruction. One that only gets used on very
rare occasions. As I said before, once in the last 7 years. For me, I do
not see the point in continuing to have something that folks are going to
be required to know if they are simply not being used. Why require
training for something that is not happening? How many people have had an
occasion to need to use or inspect an epee or a foil in the last 5 years?
Not counting the Bryn Gwlad throwback event, my guess would be less than
10 total in the entire kingdom.

6 years ago, the reasoning for not dropping foils and epees was that we
should let them die their natural death. 6 years later, they have done so.
This rule change would simply acknowledge what has already happened.
YMMV ~shrug~

Avery
(and yes, I still have a case of epees in the garage, just do not have a
reason to use them)
