I've been working on a few different projects. In order to force myself to
focus, I'm scheduled to give a ~30 minute talk on Sprang to a local mundane
weaving guild in March. So I'm doing little sampler bags and trying to work
out the Borum Eshoj hairnet. I can't find the Bog Burial book, but I'm
trying to ILL it and the Danish Bronze Age Costumes book (both by Hald).
I washed some fleece samples and had to throw away one that had moth
eggs/casings. Now I've got to go through that big bag of smaller bags
looking for infestations. Grr.
I'm rotating "get back to" projects, a small tapestry weaving and a big
yardage weaving.
I'm not accomplishing a whole lot yet, but I'm doing a lot of it.
Also, I just bought fiber from a person who's getting rid of a lot of stuff
she doesn't use anymore. So, I got 2 or 3 kilos of Merino, a half pound-ish
of Jacob, a half pound-ish of Icelandic, 6-8 ounces of Tussah and 2 ounces
Bombyx painted in a colorway called 'Crocus'. It's really pretty. The best
part is, it was all $25 dollars! The painted silk alone cost that much; she
still had the price and label inside the bag. Yea! Had to brag.
I'm back on a Dabbling in Rare Breeds kick again, so I ordered a few samples
of some I don't already have, rare or non. Herdwick, Swaledale, Spotted
Morlam, Polwarth, seems like 1 or 2 more.
Well, so much for a short email.
Radegund
