Greetings~
I am new to the Barony of Bryn-Gwlad and the SCA. I am also a homeschool mom of 3. I am in need of assistance. I am a part of a local homeschool co-op (in Leander). This year we happen to be studying the exact same time period that the SCA encompasses (600bc-1600ad), from about the Fall of Rome to the End of the Renaissance.
I am looking for people within the SCA to do some presentations for the homeschool co-op. Really, some short lessons and/or demonstrations would be great! Anything from 20-45 minutes would be best.
We meet on Fridays from 9am-12noon. The 1st & 2nd Fridays are classroom times, the 3rd is Field Trip Day, and the 4th is Rec Day. We are trying to tie all of our Field Trip & Rec Days in line with our lessons. Here is a quick breakdown of our calender for the year:

Sept-Classical Greece
Oct-Classical Rome
Nov-Dark Ages
Dec-OFF
Jan-Middle Ages
Feb-Middle Ages
Mar-Renaissance Era
Apr-Renaissance Era

Please contact me As Soon As Possible if you can do a lesson on any of the above eras or any of the below subjects:
Archery, Music/Dance, Weapons (History & Types), Clothing (History, How changed, Types), Spinning & Weaving, Herbs (for Healing & Dyes), Scribals/Hands/Calligraphy, Glass Painting/Blowing, Metal Working (making Weapons, Armor, or Chain Mail, Life of the Times (growing up in that era), Title Order [Futilism] (King/Count/Baron/Duke/etc...) and what their duties were, Cooking, Etc.... Etc... Etc...

This would be a GREAT opportunity to teach children about History.
Remember, "The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe."
This is an awesome chance to show of your talents and to teach kids of the Knowne World about Living History.

Please email me as soon as possible if you think you may be able to offer some services.
Thank you again!
Holli (I realy need to pick a persona) Sicard
