Darcy,

Could you forward this to the Ansteorran list for those not on the Textile list? If you're not on Ansteorra, let me know, and I'll forward it for you.

Thanks,
Radegund

Subject: [Ansteorra-Textiles] Beginning Inkle Loom Class

  Greetings,

If you are planning on taking the hands on portion of the class here are a few supplies you should bring in addition to a loom: Several skeins of Embroidery floss to make your heddles, at least 2 colors of yarn to weave, scissors. As far as yarn is concerned, avoid anything that is really fuzzy like a worsted, it will pill together while you're weaving and gets really annoying which can be frustrating when you're learning. I recommend a smooth yarn to start with; something like crochet thread (nice for belts & trim), embroidery floss (for trim), or Peaches & Cream Yarn (makes a nice heavy belt or trim).
