The cord? Use it to make button loops, or lacing ties, or sleeve ties, or
trim, or.....
And that's barring the actual Japanese point to the stuff, which is to tie
the Obi down since the 'bow' in the back is a fake.

I bought a thoroughly non-period kumihimo kit at Gulf Wars (one of those
foam disks with slots) because with all of the pre-war sewing I forgot to
pack my knitting and needed something to do on the trip home. Now I gotta
find a use for it . . . .
