We have not specifically designed which dalmaticas he wants yet, we will work on that Saturday morning. I do have some overall color combinations for the outfits that His Highness is looking for:<br>

blue and black with gold accents<br>
black and gold <br>
white with purple accents<br>

I am open to using embroidered and beaded panels as well, as long as we can document what we do. The garments themselves are relatively easy to create, so the weaving/beading/embroidery will be what really makes these outfits shine.<br>

My first concern will be getting his garments done for Coronation, of course. <br>

Many of the clavii from what I have seen are woven into the cloth or maybe the linen threads are pulled and the wool woven in tapestry style....vines, figures and animals seem to be the majority of what I've seen...ya'll might want to keep this in mind when designing the bands...<br>

Ya might look at Early Decorative Textiles by Paul Hamlyn (I have it if you wish to borrow it...) and The Roman Textile Industry and it's Influence (David Brown/Oxbow has it for a good price...ya can borrow it too....) I can't seem to find the rest of my books that relate...I think they're still at Isobail's...<br>

Okay...we'll all need some specs...like how long and wide...are you doing the really long ones or the two from the top and two from the bottom...do you need specific colours? <br>

For some of the rondels/squares you might be able to get by with tapestry fabric...I've seen some at the high end stores cary tapestry fabric that has rondels with roman-like designs. <br>

I don't know if my tablet weaving is up to par enough yet...I haven't gotten DF down yet...but I'd be willing to weave plain bands (or supply appropriate fabric) and embroider them appropriately....<br>

Greetings unto the Textiles list from Honorable Lady Rixende de Rouen, Tailor to His Royal Highness. I have joined this list as I have been set upon a task by His Highness and I am in need of the assistance of the many talented weavers in Ansteorra.<br>

His Highness will be adopting a Roman persona as of Coronation, and therefore I have a great need for Woven segmentae, clavi, etc. to adorn his garments. I am in search of card, tapestry and loom weavers who would be willing to undertake this task of weaving these pieces which will then be attached to his garments (primarily Dalmaticas.) <br>

I am also looking for any documentation that people can point me toward for Roman weaving (6th-7th century) and garments. <br>
