<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Linen does not stretch the way wool does, so it
has a tendency to snap when under tension on a loom. Since linen is
stronger when it is wet, the typical thing to do is to use a spray
bottle to keep the warp moist while it is under tension. The
only people I've heard of who don't necessarily have to do that are the
ones that weave in very high humidity climates.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV style="FONT: 10pt arial">I was recently told after a failed linen
weaving experiment that I should have kept my fibers wet to give them
strength. They were dry and so broke more easily while weaving. Again,
these are untested by me second hand comments...so if someone can verify
their accuracy or inaccuracy I would enjoy hearing.</DIV>
