It would constitute a form of documenting only the style, subject or
general
demeanor as period, but not document the piece itself as period.   In
that
regard it would be acceptable.  But remember you would only be
documenting
style, subject or demeanor.  It does weaken the entry a little bit.  A
source that documents the piece to period would certainly strengthen the
entry.  If you'd like to send me information on the piece via a private
e-mail, I'd be glad to do some research for you.
