Somebody asked me the form of the books .This little book I have found
as a lot of examples' The first "Learn or be Lewd" was written in rhyme
royal, a five stress lines in a sever line stanzas with a ababbcc
pattern. It was written in 1475.
"The Abc of Aristotle" was in Alliterative verse. 1430 It has an
introduction then does this:
Be not-
A too Amorous, too Adventurous, nor Argue too much.
B too Bold, too busy, Nor Babble too long.
C-W etc.
"Seager's School of Virtue"
For that is a point of good courtesy.
When they are served, then pause a space,
For that is a sign of nurture and grace.
Salt with thy knife the reach and take,
The bread cut fair, and do not break.
The examples are of different rhymes and even the stanzas are irregular.
It seem a anything goes thing.
