I'm beginning to wonder if this is one of the origins of the tear-jerking
Irish sagas and poems. After about 3 quatrains or so, the poet concluded that
every character in the piece had to die, slowly.
It's not even a hypothesis at this point, but I'll work on it. The madness of
a poet is a great topic to consider.
