[Bards] Eisteddfodd Format???

Greetings All,

I must be going senile as I thought that I had posted the format for
Eisteddfod to this list but apparently I did not. My apologies -

So here it is: the competition will be run as a "double elimination" in the
same manner that Tiggy did it last year. That means that everyone will
perform and be scored. Those scoring in the bottom half will be put in the
"losers" bracket and we will then progress onto round two. A person is
eliminated if they wind up in the bottom 50% twice. If we have more than one
competitor after four rounds, we will have a final fifth round with the
remaining contestants to determine the winner. (Tiggy - please fill in any
gaps or make any corrections if I've gotten something wrong.)

Competitors are not required to vary their performance type by rounds. In
other words, you can tell a story every round or sing a song every round if
you want to. You can also mix it up with every round if you want to. (I'm
proof that someone can be a half way entertaining performer and not be able
to carry a tune in a bucket and I don't want to penalize the tone deaf.)

Every performer is required to have written documentation for at least two
pieces. Points will not be deducted for pieces lacking documentation after
the required two, but points may be added for additional pieces that are
documented.

I hope that this information helps and is not too confusion and I apologize
for not having published it sooner. Please respond to this group or to me
privately if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Pendaran Glamorgan, ML

Subject: [Bards] Eisteddfodd Format???

Hello everyone --

Tiggy here.

Well, Eisteddfodd-prep season is here, and I've heard a few bards asking the
question about the FORMAT for the next Kingdom Eisteddfodd.

The only things I've heard thus far is that it will be at Steppes' 12th
Night, that "repeating weapons" will be allowed, and that there is going to
be some kind of requirement for documentation.

Do we have an official format yet?

Thanx --

Tig
