Sorry for the delay here. Had an event to help throw. (The largest
non-kingdom-level event ever held up on this end of the map, pardon my
crowing...)
The (or rather, My) Answers to the Riddles:
Ulf's Riddle:
================
In the South I can lift a vessel.
In the North I can break a vessel.
Many arms and many fingers
But no hands between them.
What am I?
ANSWER: The ocean.
Gerald's Riddle:
================
Tall as mountains, short as mouses
Under porch and over houses,
Without the light I can't be found,
But one lit candle brings me around.
Ever changing, rarely still,
Speak now my name if you will.
ANSWER: Shadow.
Iain's Riddle:
================
Lifts you up, and casts you down,
Deafens you without a sound,
Blinds you to the world around,
Turns you into silly clown.
Takes you high on angel wings,
Makes you want to try to sing,
To heaven and hell your heart it brings,
Caring not for lesser things.
Mothers, fathers, children fall,
To its soft, seductive call.
Yields no more than castle's wall,
Still you're glad to give your all.
ANSWER: Love
Milo's Riddle:
================
>From the ground was first I taken.
In a fire I then was slakened.
Hammer’s head and anvil’s toughness
Helped to shape my unformed roughness.
Now on warrior do wrap I ‘round,
To guard him from the cold, cold ground,
Turning steel and stone aside
That do seek to pierce his hide.
Answer: Armor
Darius's Riddle:
================
My Mother is the cold clear brook
She runs both cold and clear
My father is the old man of the feilds
They grind his bones and cut his beard
Who am I?
ANSWER: Beer
The Sphinx's Riddle (courtesy of Serena):
================
Four legs have I in the morning,
Two legs in the afternoon.
Then three in the eventide.
What am I? (Hint: what are you?)
ANSWER: Man
