There will also be an opportunity for bardic classes at Westgate's Collegium in August. The event theme is "Bards and Garb". I'll be coordinating bardic classes, and will be hitting folks up to come teach sometime after Gulf Wars.

I would like to give each of you something to contemplate as you go off to war, so that when you return, you will have yet another great adventure to look forward to! The Barony of Stargate has offered to host King's Colllege this year in an outdoor format. I would love to see this be an event to brings together a wide variety of artisans. Saundra has volunteered to teach a class of classic bardic songs. Master Ihon is our class coordinator and is arranging for a bardic circle in the evening so that teachers and students can have a place to gather together and share in the friendship that makes Ansteorra strong. I'd love to see an entire bardic track...story telling....instuments...dance...drums. Classes will run from 9ish to 5ish so we have time for 8 one hour classes in a bardic track. We won't schedule classes that are simular at the same time (no dueling bardic instruction<G>) so first come first served. Master Ihon's email is: jhirling at gmail.com. He says
he'll start the data base as soon as the first email arrives with a proposed class and description.<G>
There will be, of course, cooking, pottery, archery, equestrian, youth boffer and rapier, a children't track, and armor making...that's just the stuff that ISN'T under the pavillion. The pavillion is huge, has electricity and will be set up with tables and chairs for more traditional classes such as blackwork and spinning. If you've never been to Camp Camwood, there is plenty of shade, camping if you are interested and hotels close by if you are not.
Yes, I have heard the rumors that gwyneth has lost her mind...LOL...that it's too hot in Ansteorra in June for artisans to want to be outside. But this is a beautiful opportunity to provide a King's College for EVERYONE before I step down. I would love for all of you to come play with me:)
Master Ihon, if I have any of my facts wrong, please feel free to straighten me out<G>
