I am willing to be involved; however, copyright should not be trampled
upon lightly (Or even run roughshod over by rampaging leviathans.) We
can get away with a decent amount for personal use, but once we start
mass producing we HAVE to consider copyright. Or we could get the
whole thing shut down by the might of somebody or other's Lawyers. A
bit of preparation for copyright issues in advance is VASTLY
preferable to costly mundane issues in the future. They tend to do
what most expensive mundane things do: inhibit one's ability to play
the game.

I hate to break it to you, unless the guy you're recording wrote the
song or story in question they don't have the legal right (in most
cases) to give you the right to do anything other than listen and
maybe learn the song yourself. There are all kinds of grey areas in
'acceptable use' but you're talking mass production and actual
publishing, which means you have to take the time to jump through the
hoops BEFORE you put out the CD. I recommend you speak with Mistress
Rhiannon, and hear some of the stories she has about trying to obtain
permissions to use.

For a CD it's even more complicated: You need permission from the one
who wrote it AND the one who sang it. I, for one, value my mundane
job too much to treat copyright anything but seriously.
