[Bards] Eisteddfod Discussion

I've been thinking about a Kingdom level event that supports the performing
arts -- music, dance, acting, cooking, storytelling, juggling, foolery, and
just about anything else that would fit into this category. (I first got the
idea back in A.S. XXV, so I've been ruminating on it for a long time)
Eisteddfod would fit perfectly into such an event. (I already had plans for
a bardic competition during feast)
If anyone is interested in my notes on such an event, let me know and I'll
be happy to send them along. The one down side to the event is that I'd be
busy teaching the entire run of the event.

No, that is not a Romulan war bird de-cloaking...it's just Tadhg.

I had the privilege last year of going to Known World Cooks and Bards.

Those two communities work well together at the KW level...I don't know why
it wouldn't work here as well.

Just a thought.

Tadhg

>Yeah, I was bad and totally spaced on my own meeting and showed up VERY
late.  We had a brief discussion and there seems a bit more interest to hold
Eisteddfod separate from Kingdom A&S in order to maintain the identity of
Eisteddfod.  There was also some discussion about bidding Eisteddfod as a
stand-alone event and maybe including some other activities for draw (like
cooking, dance, etc).

>I would love for the Crown, Kingdom Seneschal, and A&S Minister to get
multiple bids for Eisteddfod, either as a rider to an existing event, or as
a stand-alone.  We need to show the kingdom how much this event means to us.

Eisteddfod, in conjunction with our January event which is not yet on the
Kingdom calendar, but soon will be. Was there any discussion at Round Table?
I am sending this message to our event stewards as well, they may have more
details available.

>Greetings all,
>Bids for Eisteddfod are due September 1.  Last year, no bids were received,
so I coordinated with Their Majesties and the KMOAS to hold Eisteddfod at
Kingdom A&S.  That worked out ok.  I got some feedback on what went well and
what could be improved if we want to go with that option again.

>I'd like some input from Eisteddfod participants though.  Would performers
be interested in having an Eisteddfod Discussion meeting at Round Table this
weekend?  I'd like to discuss venues, participation, and support, and see
what we can do to help improve Eisteddfod.  If people want to meet, I need
to know quickly, if we're going to get on the Round Table schedule.
