I have been working on this the better part of the day. Still is a bit
rough, and right this moment thinking that perhaps War Bard will not happen
but a moment later and closer to home. I have to step away from it for the
next few days, so we will see how I feel when I return to the work. I
should probably get to making tunics at the very least. :)

Eala, bearnas mancynnes, æðelingas and gesiþas!
LO, bairns of mankinds, nobility and companions!

Fram fægere land, feor and neah,
>From fair lands, far and near,

cumaþ hildáca in hæleþa-gamenum tógædere,
come battle-oaks in warrior-games together,

wuldor mid benc-winum to winnanne.
Glories with bench-friends to win.

Ac ne land nis tó heofonum neara
But no land is to the heavens nearer

Swa cynehám ure mid steorran blæcum.
as our royal-home with star black.

Fare ic norðweard and finde guþgelácan rofe.
Fare I northward and find war-givers famous.

Beadubordas hearde berað Norðfolc heah,
Battleboards hard bear Northfolk high,

wearderas wiþ feondum and wihtum elelændum.
warders against fiends and beings foreign.

Fare ic suðweard, áspringende flotu séce
Fare I southward, originating waters [I] seek
.
Suðfolc ure strand wiþ sæweargum beclenceð
Southfolk our shores against sea-wargs clench,

Þrímeras swilce þrymm ne geþrístaþ to hergan.
Trimaris such a host dare not harry.

Fare ic hámweard, mid freondum deorum to myrgan,
Fare I homeward, with friends dear to make merry,

Mid Middelfolce sigecræft macaþ gárhéapas gréate,
With Middlefolk victory-craft makes speartropps great,

Wíg-hlafordas and wearderas þurh ecgplegan wiexeþ.
Warlords and Warders/Defenders through edge-play grow/wax.

Nú heafodwóð ic hiere and me heo gefrægneð:
Now a headvoice I hear and me it questions:

Hú lifaþ þæt sawolhus gif módhám leas weorþe?
How lives the soul-house if the mind-home loose becomes?

Hwæt is middengeard hwan heofonas fielaþ?
What is Middleyard when heaven fall?

Sóðlice seo wóþ rædeð, heo scéawað treoþ.
Soothly the voice counsels, it shows truth.

Eadige cynedómas earon hwonne æþelfrumum wealden.
Prosperous kingdoms are when [by] athel-leaders wielded.

Heahboren we habbaþ, and nu herie ic weorþlice
Highborn we have, and nw praise I worthily

Cyning and cynehlafdige mine, eallum cuðe wíde
King and royal-lady mine, [by] all known widely.

Margrete and Iason sittaþ, micle on gifstólum,
Margerita and Jason sit, mickle on gift-stools (thrones)

Heafodweardas rices heahsetla, for eaforum heolden.
Head-warders of the kingdom's high seats, for heirs held.

Ofer regenbogan mót rídan ánig to beterne heofon ræcan.
Over a rainbow must ride any to a better heaven reach.

Wordhlísa manegum Ansteorrum on wæpnfeld earnede;
Wordfame many Ansteorrans on weapon-field earned;

Smíþas worda, irenes, and wulle sciepð mærnesse.
Smiths of words, iron, and wool shape fame.

þyrste ic for þeode minum, þes treowfastan ríce,
Thurst I for nation mine, this truefast kingdom,

heorte and heorth mihtiga, hal be Ansteorraland!
heart and hearth mighty, hale be Ansteorra!
