Greeting  everyone
I have talking to others. I have been talking to Heralds and Fools and 
Courtiers. They have been talking about the failure of the Landed 
nobles to create the show. If you are really trying to create a 
medieval/Renaissance feel you are going to use more Bards/Performers. 
I know I have seen some Baron/ess do  a good job. I saw Master Thomas 
use a Bard to do a praise piece to honor an individual. I saw Sir 
Pendaran and Mistress  Jehanne use entertainers to keep their populace 
happy during long meetings. I am sure other Landed Nobles have use us. 
When Sir Simon was Prince of Ansteorra he had all the Bards tell tales 
of true Chivalry. Master Bjorn had the Bards tell tales about the Nine 
Worthies which started the whole Nine Worthies fad. I know there are 
times which we have set the stage well. We need to give word fame to 
the Landed Nobility and the Crowns that create situations that allow 
us to perform. 
I remember a famous Irish tale. The Chief Bard of the Irish College 
had been on circuit and when he got back to the Court of Tara he was 
bragging on getting a silver ring from  a minor king. The High King 
ask why he was giving word fame to this king when he has gotten gold 
rings from the High King. The Chief Bard answered, " You see your 
Majesty It is the first time this king has given anything." It was 
common for Bards to cry the Largess and Courtesies of nobles that 
supported them and we need to take a page from their books and give 
word fame to the courts of nobles that support us.
