This is why I don't do it. It didn't feel right. In my time period there was almost no nationalism. The kingdom was land and people--not things think thrones and flags. Also there is little evidence that Kings carried thrones with them In El Cid they talk about giving the King the bench with the back. The kings of France are shown with thrones in their throne rooms, but other than want they are on regular seats. The Early ages and the medieval period seemed to place a stress on that the kings were the living embodiment of the kingdom. The seat was made a throne because the King sat in it. Even in the Church tradition if the body of Christ or God's presence is not at the altar you don't have to bow to it. The Throne is like the altar if the presence is not there you don't have to bow. Yang's song tells of a King who didn't want to be bowed to so he stated that the King changes all the time but the throne stays so you should bow to the throne and not the man.
