I fully understand the problems associated with having a Fool or 
European Jester. The problems of a You is the same as a European 
Jester or Fools. European Fools and Jesters make fun of situations to 
lighten the mood. They are allowed to make fun of people in your 
court and also visiting individuals. If they overstep their bound it 
is the Lord or Lady who must apologize. 

Young inexperience Fools and Jesters often need help learning how far 
they can go. Master Pepin was our Fool before he became the Kings 
fool. His Grace Jonathan taught Master Pepin his limits. 

A You is also suppose to teach. You's Tell tales and jokes that show 
people especially nobles the errors of their ways. This could get the 
noble into a lot of trouble. I have watched your teaching tales and 
jokes and I decided I could use the wisdom they carry. 

I have found myself thinking about your words and using the wisdom. I 
make mistakes and I feel I could use your wit to improve my behavior.

I welcome you to hold a mirror to myself and my Court. I would please 
ask you to not hold a mirror up to His Grace because he has a Norman 
sense of humor. 

As to you maybe showing up those who are above me or below.. If it is 
valid wisdom that will help them be better rulers or better people I 
am please to take the blame. I will not take the blame if you put 
them to shame or make fun of them on a personal level. I feel it is 
discourteous to make fun of a person about their physical failings or 
their problems in their personal life. We can talk more about this.

Pride, vainglory, rapine, murder, arrogance, stupidity, sloth, greed 
and lack of generosity are things I feel you have full right to make 
fun of. There may be others, but I can't think of them right now

I hope you will consider my offer knowing I am fully award of my 
responsibilities.I also believe I am one of the few nobles of the 
kingdom who could offer you the kind of protection you need.
