Just an FYI:
I've been asked to teach Renaissance dance during the intermediate teaching
session at the Int'l Folk Dance group for the next 2 weeks.
Their dancing goes from about 7:30 to 10:45 pm on Sat nights. The teaching
will probably be anywhere between 8:30 and 9:30 pm. I'll be doing Petits
Vriens and Gathering Peascods this week.. so if anyone would like to show
up for support :) or just get a taste of Int'l Folk Dancing.. come show up
:) Their newsletter below has location and website.

Our own dance guild meetings for April are: April 6th & April 20th.

Greetings to the village. The dance will take place at Hancock Recreation
Center this Saturday night beginning with newcomers' class at 7:30pm.Nadine
Latief will host two weeks of teaching in Old English Country and Italian
Renaissance dances. Programmers for the
dance will be Madeline Brock and Martin Blaha.

On the first Monday, April 1st, Jo Soto and Bruce Bostwick will host
folkdancing at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 4700 Grover, from
7-9pm. Admission is $2.

Thanks to the fantastic live orchestra we had at the dance last Saturday! We
are enjoying a marvelous upsurge in musicians and singers prepared to
enliven our evenings. There will be a TIFD music workshop in Austin over
Memorial Day weekend, so mark your calendar to take part in a whole series
of musical events. Those who are interested in participating in folk music
as singers or musicians can subscribe to a distribution list for information
about live music workshops, practices and performances:
txfdmusic at lists.cc.utexas.edu

On Thursday April 3rd there will be a free Turkish culture festival from
7-9pm at 1317 South Congress Avenue. There will be Turkish music and food,
and other offerings for your enjoyment.

In addition to this newsletter, AIFD has a website for your enjoyment:

Hope to see you Saturday, Carol
