This is the most recent monthly newsletter I got.  I signed up at a
Wednesday contra dance.  (Contra is way different from country.  If
you get dizzy from spinning, you do not want contra!)

Of particular note for SCAers, I would think, is the English Country
Dance this Friday.  I haven't been to one yet.  I'm told that the
repetoire is different and that the dances become more complicated as

Center, 811 E. 41st St, every Wednesday, 7:30 to 9:45 p.m. Open band.

June 19.  English Country Dancing ***This month only we're dancing on
the 3rd Friday and at a different location!*** 7:30-10:30 pm at
Carpenter's Hall, 400 Josephine, Live music by ECO (Austin's English
Country Orchestra).  All dances are taught and called. $6.  Contact

June 20.  Austin 3rd Saturday Contra Dance.  Lissa Bengtson from San
Antonio calling with the Lost and Nameless Orchestra. 8-11 pm
(newcomers session at 7:30) $8 with discounts for AFTM members and

June 26-28. Tunes for 20! contra dance camp at Cross Point Camp, on
Lake Texoma. Mimi Rogers & Allison Hicks celebrate 20 years of musical
collaboration. A good excuse for a party. You dance and we'll play the
