[Bg-dance] Demo Nov 14

Connor and I are available to dance on the afternoon of Nov. 14.  Since we are Cedar Park residents, we would prefer to do Fable Fest to support our library.

A note about Star's comments:  I don't know if I've been in long enough to have an opinion, but here goes.  Both events are worthy causes, but I know we may not have the personnel to do both.  I think Fable Fest might be the better choice for several reasons.  

The Biscuit Brothers event looks to be very large.  While exposure to that many people could be positive, I fear we would be lost in the shuffle of so much going on, especially since the overall theme of the day has little to do with our focus.

If education is one of our goals, Fable Fest might be a better opportunity to genuinely reach people. It is, after all, an event to support a library. And, in the midst of the faeries, wizards, and "magical creatures" listed on their website, we could be a touchstone to the reality of the era.  Our chance to make a positive educational impact on our audience might be better when the crowd is already mentally geared toward our period of focus.

I'm not sure that we can do two demos on same day.  So, if not, I trust you to judge which is a better choice for us and fits our official and unofficial purpose...


 


Official purpose is that the SCA is pursuing/supporting educational purposes (so educating others).


Unofficial purpose is to interest potential new members to participate.

We have 2 demo request this day Saturday Nov 14 Cedar Park Library and Pioneer farms ( Biscuit Bros event) I have not been give a schedule or have an idea what the library wants. 

1. Are we interested in both or decline the second request from Pioneer farms? 2- 30 minute programs worked very well with a break between. I wish to continue this pattern. 

 

2. What dancers are planning to attend and dance?
