Is there still any question about this? I thought it was settled years
ago. Paintings and woodcuts show couples holding hands as shown in
these examples. There is an exception -- there's an Italian painting
showing three dancers holding "hands" but linking pinkies at shoulder
level. I haven't seen the "Hollywood" hold in SCA dance in over 10
years.
