[Bg-dance] Dance Sunday evening

Dances I thought of...

Pease Bransle (hoppy dance reminiscent of bunnies)
Maltese Bransle - with "rabbit-like" being one of the inner treads
Gathering Peascods - because I learned it as a Maypole or Father Tree based dance
A circle dance with a hey would be good for Maypole reminiscents (I think Sellingers Round has that option)
Rufty Tufty because at 20th Year Celebration on May 1st a group of about 20-30 sets danced this dance in the Maypole area near sunrise, plus we watched some Morris Dancers.

For some reason, New Bo Peep makes me think of Spring Frolicing like an Easter Egg Hunt...

But I'm open to other people's interpretations too.

Might a bransle be made to fit a Beltane/May Pole kind of theme? That would be très intéressant.

See you there!

European Dance Guild:
Come join us this Sunday for our regular European dance practice.

We meet the 2nd & 4th Sunday each month from 6-8 pm at Wells branch recreation center on 3000 Shoreline Dr Austin, Texas 78728. Guild is open to all dancers, all levels. Street clothes are the norm for dress, though garb is welcome.

We may try and choose dances that could be twisted toward Easter/Spring/Ostara or Beltane theme. Can you frolic with us?

Intermediate Dancers Addition:
Intermediate Dancers, there is a "Two Couple Challenge Dances" session from 5-6 pm, same location. We'll be focusing on dances like Argeers and Star's Square (modification of John Tallows Cannon) and possibly something else.

Dance principal Bryn Gwlad
