Greetings! Some of you may have seen me before; I've played with the musicians at the dances at the Wells Branch center a few times in the past (I'm the bowed psaltery player). I'm working on a CD of SCA dance music, and I'm trying to figure out the right number of repeats and correct tempo for each song, to make sure each one is ideal for dancing. I also have questions about specific music for Orynge, Ly Bens Dystonis, and La Gelosia. Here's my list -

1) Petits Vriens - Guglielmo Ebreo (Giovanni Ambrosio) mid 15th century
2) Chirintana - 15th c. Italian dance, found in the Siena manuscript (ca 1560-1570???)
3) Danse de Cleves - Appears in the Brussels Manuscript, 1445
4) Pizochara - Domenico da Piacenza, 15th century Italian
5) Orynge - The Gresley Manuscript (England, c.1500) (What music is generally used for this dance?)
6) Ly Bens Dystonis - The Gresley Manuscript (England, c.1500) (What music is generally used for this dance?)
7) Heart's Ease - Playford “The English Dancing Master”, 1651 (1st Ed.)
8) Rufty Tufty - Playford “The English Dancing Master”, 1651 (1st Ed.)
9) Amoroso - Guglielmo Ebreo “De Practica seu Arte Tripudii”, 1463
10) Trenchmore - Playford “The English Dancing Master”, 1652 (2nd Ed.)
11) If All the World Were Paper - Playford “The English Dancing Master”, 1651 (1st Ed.)
12) Dull Sir John - Playford “The English Dancing Master”, 1651 (1st Ed.)
13) Gracca Amoroso - Fabritio Caroso “Il Ballarino”, 1581
14) Black Almain - Inns of Court Manuscript, English 1570
15) Sellenger's Round - Dance first appears in Playford's 3rd ed. (1657). Music could be as early as 1543.
16) Lightly Love - Lovelace 1649
17) Rufty Tufty - Playford The English Dancing Master, 1651 (1st Ed.)
18) La Gelosia - (Which version do you use: Domenico da Piacenzo, Italian 1460, or the variant by Guglielmo Ebreo?)
19) Cassandre Bransle - Thoinot Arbeau “Orchesographie”, 1589
20) Burgundian Bransle - Thoinot Arbeau “Orchesographie”, 1589
21) Horses Bransle - Thoinot Arbeau “Orchesographie”, 1589
22) Toss the Duchess (Official Bransle) - Thoinot Arbeau “Orchesographie”, 1589

If anyone knows repeats/tempo, I'd be very grateful for your help. Thanks!
