reopened the sign up for the Bryn Gwlad participants' registry

Due to requests I received at tonight's business meeting, I am
re-opening submissions for the Bryn Gwlad participants' registry. The
new submission deadline is Monday, May 2nd of this year (one week
before the May business meeting, to give me the opportunity to get
fresh price quotes by then). If you kept meaning to sign up before the
last deadline and never did, I respectfully suggest you go to the

NOW and do it. It really does only take a couple of minutes, and it's
easier to just get it over with than to remember to take care of it at
some unspecified point in the future.

An explanation, in case you don't know what I'm talking about:

The registry will be a sort of quick-reference booklet on the
people of the barony--a contact list that also includes information on
things like people's personae, their heraldic devices, and the awards
they've got, plus a little information that'll help newcomers figure
out what it all means. Anyone who wants to be included in the
directory can be. All they have to do is submit their information and,
if they're minors, give me contact info for their parents so that I can
make sure it's O.K. with them if I publish it. We're starting fresh
this time, not re-using data from any previous registry, so if you
haven't filled out the new form yet, you need to do it now. Here're

It'll get to me immediately, I won't have to try to decipher any
idiosyncratic handwriting, and I'll be able to cut-and-paste most
things into the pages of the book, which will save time and reduce
typo's. All information entered on the form will be e-mailed directly
to me. No record will be kept online.

fill it out, and give it to me at Populace in the Park or mail it to

other local leaders who want to encourage those with whom they work can
also print and copy the form and pass it around, if they wish, but I'd
be happiest if they encouraged the use of the webform wherever possible
for the above-mentioned reasons.

If you've got handy a line drawing of your registered device (no
color--we're printing in black-and-white) in an electronic format, feel
free to go ahead and e-mail it to me after you submit the form. The
sooner I get it, the better. If you don't have a drawing, I'll make
one. But as I've mentioned before, it will be cobbled together out of
clip-art and images from old heraldic dictionaries and the like,
because that's the best my skills allow me to do. It will be
heraldically correct, but will likely not match your favorite emblazon
in every artistic detail.
