I think a lot of it was just shock. To tell the truth, he was quite blown away that so many people would chip in to buy him the hat. I think the whole thing made him rather humble and appreciative.

        I happily donated a single dollar to this worthy cause and I must say it was money well spent. Did the drunken stupor look come before or after the hat?
