Richard Rubenstein, noted author and Professor of
Conflict Resolution and Public Affairs at George Mason
University, will deliver two public lectures exploring
the relationships among philosophy, science, and
religion.

His first lecture will be devoted to his 2003 book
Aristotle’s Children, which discusses the ideas of the
Greek philosopher Aristotle and the resulting
Aristotelian tradition, including the loss of that
tradition at the end of antiquity and its recovery
through the work of Christian, Jewish, and Muslim
philosophers during the Middle Ages.

His second lecture will be devoted to discussing his
forthcoming book Thus Saith the Lord on the moral
vision of the Hebrew prophets, particularly Isaiah and
Jeremiah.

This event is made possible by generous support from
HumanitiesTexas, the Lamar University Honors Program,
and Lamar’s Center for Philosophical Studies. Lecture
#1 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM Lecture #2 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
