Between 7:07 PM and 7:14 PM, those present for Populace meeting tonight gathered outside to gaze into the sky at dusk long enough to catch a vision of the 21st century sparkling space shuttle orbiting overhead among the stars!
What a sight!

It was another GREAT Populace meeting tonight, attended by 35 people, with preparations for Melees, and for Officers rendering their reports.
Their Excellencies Elisabeth and Santiago do an exemplary job of facilitating the meeting and presenting the Agenda.

Stay tuned for the Agenda to be published by Their Excellencies, for those who were unable to attend tonight.

Best wishes for recovering HE Caitrin and also for Lord Maurice who have recently undergone surgeries. Reports are that each seems to be progressing as well as possible. HE AmberLea was present once more after her lengthy medical leave, getting along nicely, and meeting many new faces.

Happy Birthday to Ashley, #22! Her family provided a surprise birthday cake to honor her!

The Chronicler's Office had another nice issue of Trumpeter to hand out.

Lord George has applied for Herald. Applications may still be received by anyone once else interested.
Lord Diego is now Coastal Regional Chirurgeon as well as local. He had an informative article in Trumpeter

Officer reports, waivers, etc. are rendered and on time to Regionalis, with copies given to local Seneschal. All is well.

Oct 27 Work day at castle site; picnic supper around a campfire there. Bring a side dish. Bring your drinks. Bring your tools for the day labor.

Nov 10 Downtown Beaumont, Crockett, Entergy Building, civic Chili Cookoff- with medieval theme. Barony is invited to present demonstration and to be fed.

The following information was announced at Populace tonight
... A Note About Officers and Deputies, from the Seneschal ...

"It is always fortunate back-up for the Officer positions to have Deputies who work hand-in-hand with the Officers or sometimes stand in their stead to make a report to Regional or speak at a meeting. There are several Deputy Officer positions in Bordermarch. If you have a particular area of interest where you would like to be of service and receive training and experience, please communicate with that Officer and/or with Their Excellencies the Baron and Baroness of Bordermarch, and/or with the Baronial Seneschal about any Office Deputy post.

In fact, now that we mention, this coming summer 2008, I might like to retire as Seneschal, so therefore, am actively seeking Deputies who are interested in writing a letter to learn about the Office of Seneschal. Even current Deputies would please need to send a letter of intent if seriously interested. If you would consider training and functioning in a communications type of volunteer job, where detailed, timely reporting is essential, email is frequently used, and your hours of sleep automatically decrease, please write a message about your interest and provide it to Their Excellencies and this office.
Thank you each and all. I shall wait beside the mailbox! :) "

Many a new banner with the Bordermarch Ram horn or the Ansteorra Star will fly at Melees.
Keep looking Up! There are stars around us, for sure! :)
