We can only ditto what S. Simmon and C. Tessa have sent forth.  We look forward to many more "family" gatherings and time together.
Thank you S. Simonn for your stewardship this Baronial 2008. We look forward to working with you again.

>>From the Steward of Bordermarch Baronial Champions XXXI,
Count Simonn of Amber Isle,
Come these words of gratitude, with the dread thought of leaving out anyone.

Thank you the guests from Gleann Ahbann, Meridies, and An Tir, as well as Anseorrans in attendance.  Being at the castle marked a "first event" for nearly a dozen recent participants who were given applause by all at court.
Congratulations are certainly due to new title Champions: Lord Othar: Chivalric; Don Petar: Rapier; Lord Padric: Archery; m'lady Phoenix: Youth Archery; and Lord Padric again as A & S champion.  Each of these were victorious in competitions enjoyed by all the other entrants. Thank yous are in order to the retiring Champions who were Their Excellencies Santiago and Elisabeth's 'first' Champions:
Sior Tomas, HE Don Armand, HE Baron Mikael, Young m'lord Daniel Nalligan, and HE Mistress Isabeau for the generosity of their service and time to provide competitions for this year.

After this comfortable, cozy celebration of Their Excellencies Santiago and Elisabeth observing their first anniversary as baron and baroness, I wish to thank a number of people who gave extreme hours to planning and set up, beginning Wednesday into Thursday and finishing any needed touches Friday morning.  Most of these same individuals were also the break down / clean up crew who efficiently pulled together in order for every last person to exit a pristine site Sunday by 2:00 PM.
Clear to see, one or a few persons cannot make event surroundings, such as we just experienced, to happen in a little measure of time.
Thanks to Lord Diego and Lord Zain who arrived with me Wednesday and set the posts and ropes for parking and list field and the various baronial tents. Thanks are in order to His Excellency Santiago for his direction and muscle to set up the tents on the list field; thanks to Lord Aeglemaer, Lord Phocas, Lord Gavan of the Daggers and his brother m'lord Michael, for standing up the red BFT; to Lord BrandErik, Lord Decimus, m'lord Oakin, and to all the Lost Boys for climbing, suspended on nothing but their suspenders, to the heights of the castle towers and to the heights of the (wooden) road entrance wall posts to install the pole flags.
Thank you to HE Don Armand for taking care of the torch lines and setting the lamps to flame.
Thank yous to my beloved bride Countess Tessa, to Lady Catalina, m'lady Tatiana, m'lady Courtney, at the gracious direction of, and hands on with, Her Excellency Lady Elisabeth to set the pole banners of kingdom and barony, personal banners, and field pennants in perfect array as well as to arrange the decor within the Baronial presence, the List tent, and the point of gathering near the Heraldry books and Scribal table.  Thank you to Lord George for manning the Heraldry books for consultations, to Lady Kaithleen for her penning, and to all the artisans who produced original scrolls: HL Therese' d Ivoire, Lady Kaithleen, Lady Libby, Lady Ellen the Quiet, and Lady Lyllianne.
Much appreciation to Lady Padraigin who assisted and to Countess Tessa for running an efficient and happy Gate clan from Friday midday through Saturday afternoon, counting and closing each shift themselves, keeping everything orderly and smooth, as well as keeping it fun for the workers. All was going perfectly well any time I checked.  Thank you to Lady Bianca and Lady Catalina for their final financial counting of paperwork from gate after closure Saturday PM.

Thank you to Lady Catalina as well for assisting Her Excellency Elisabeth with the Nobles luncheon, aided by Lady Anhelica; and for the Saturday shared buffet set in order by HE Lady Amber Lea and Bladesong. Thank you to everyone who cooked and donated food Saturday. Special thanks to those who went the extra mile to provide and clean up Friday's buffet for Populace Meeting after most of the camp work was completed.

Thank you to the pottery guild for producing prizes and to others who provided gifts to the new champions.
Thank you to Lord Diego for running his wagon in addition to being CiC and Safety officer, to Lord Diego and Lord Phocas for public works, to Lord Phocas, Lord Aeglemaer and their helpers for the beautiful (and often personalized) Site Tokens.  Thank you to all who ministered the lists, marshaled, and heralded the fields, and to all the Waterbearers.

If the found knife was claimed, that was the final piece of found items of which I was aware. We were still searching for one lost ring (with crosses) with no leads at this time.  If someone has other information about Lost or Found items, please contact me.

In service to Christ, Ansteorra, Bordermarch and the Dream!
Simonn
