[Bordermarch] Populace JULY 31 - "in garb" ? / Garb for fighter practices

If I am not mistaken we use to dress in garb at all the fighter practices. I remember doing it, not sure why I quit. I think it would be a good idea to start again if you feel inclined to do so. It definitely attracts attention and that is how we get members.

Your Excellencies,
Your response is appreciated.
Yes, weekly fighter practices would be the better place to go in garb where
we are doing our SCA thing at the public parks.
I would not wish for anyone, prospective or busy participant, to feel
inconvenienced by changing from modern day clothes into garb for the monthly
business meetings since we have not traditionally worn garb to business
meetings.
I hope my question did not seem dogmatic.
Thank you for your enlightened leadership,
Peace be unto each and all,
Tessa

HE Santiago and I welcome one and all to the monthly populace meetings and
encourage anyone who wish to dress in garb to do so, however due to our very
busy mundane schedules we are unable to do the same at this time.

......but with the increase interest of folks at fighter practice on
Thursday night dressing in garb may be something we want to consider and
encourage. The new spot by the kids water area at Rogers Park has brought
many onlookers taking pictures or asking questions. This is always good for
growth and people can come and go at anytime.

We would like to leave this up to you the populace. If you wish to dress the
part and share your talents be it weaving, illuminating, heavy or light
fighting, pottery, bardic etc..please feel free to do so. We certainly will
participate when able.

Looking forward to meeting so many new people and as always,

God's Grace,
HE Elisabeth & HE Santiago

POPULACE MEETING is regularly scheduled for the LAST THURSDAY of a month,at
Gander Mountain Conference Room, 7:00 P.M., Eas-Tex Freeway at Dowlen Road,
Beaumont.Up -coming monthly meeting will be THURSDAY, July 31.Your
Excellencies, what say Ye to the suggestion that we might "clothe in garb"
or bring a banner or two? to welcome several newer prospects for whom July
31 could be a first attendance. (Hopefully they can attend.)Maybe have Young
Oakin, the practicing voice herald, try another bit of welcoming
announcements?Delightful couple Rich and Dorothy at fighter practices, moved
here from California; artisans: knife scabbards Rich makes and the woolen
Celtic cloaks Dorothy makes; Dorothy is a Gaelic dictionary :)Darrell's lady
wife is anticipated for her first visit;several newer fighters who already
have labor ideas for helping with Melees; and a newly interested young woman
who has been at least twice to fighter practice to observe.
