Hi-di-Ho Bordermarch,

Ansteorra's 30th year anniversary takes place next weekend at Canton's Old Times Trade Days site, in Canton Texas. Bordermarch has about 20 people so far who will be journeying to participate in the festivities.
We shall be bringing the BFT for day seating and the Hafla's. HE Elisabeth will be sponsoring some of the Rapier Tourney's, including the Everyman's Tournament.
Our very own Rapier Champion Don Brian will unfortunately be called to other duties during the event, he will not be available to represent Bordermarch in the tournaments. Although he is much saddened by his call to other duties, Don Brian has sent word that he fully supports the gracious offer from HE Don Armand, Bordermarch's second best rapier fighter, to take his place in the tournaments as Bordermarch's champion.

We need to gift the winner of the Everyman's Tournament with a gift basket, but need some items to fill it. If you've got something you could part with for only a little while, we will use it in the basket. We will be able to return it back to you because HE Don Armand has guaranteed us that he will be victorious in the tourney. After he accepts the gift basket, and everyone has left, he'll give the stuff back to us so we can return it back to you; HE Don Armand came up with this idea, he said he's used it many times in the past. If you would have HE Don Armand keep your gifts, just let us know, it's not like he has enough stuff already!

Since it's a good 4hr drive for us to the event, the Ladies, HE Elisabeth, HE Amber Lea, and Lady Catalina might need some busy-work for the trip. I'm thinking we only have to produce a thousand or so site tokens, perhaps they could spend their slack time during the drive whipping them out. The four of us will be riding together; I'll be driving, the Ladies will be talking, laughing, singing, making tokens, napping, telling me when to stop for breaks and when to turn. They will inevitably ask for my opinion about something, then they'll chastise me for actually having an opinion.
Since the construction of the site tokens requires the use of glue, the Ladies should be as goofy as loons before we've travelled to far. They'll have forgotten something, then blame me for not remembering it. If there's a Wal-Mart on the way, we'll stop, no question about it, we'll stop! I'm really looking forward to spending some quality time next weekend with the three of them.

This Saturday is the Fourth of July Pool Party bash at Simonn and Tessa's abode.
They have a pool, and I just found out that they will be home.
They have just returned from their month-long sabbatical to Alaska, I'm sure they're acclimated by now to the warmer climate down here. They are probably lovingly embracing the moisture content in the air right at this very moment.
I don't know when the party will start, but I'll be there in time to share a bowl of Cheerios with Simonn.
Everyone is invited, bring your bathing suit, some meat for the grill, some towels, and your own soap if you're going to bath in the pool. Bring something cool to drink, and use sun-block.
Lord Nik, our A&S guy , will be sporting a period 2-piece bathing suit for the party. His outfit will consist of a pre-stretched brain-cured goat bladder crafted into a crop-top, and textured woolen breeches dyed with some homemade wode. We don't want to miss that-do we?
I'm can't wait to watch Lord Zane's water ballet performed with the use of un-tipped rattan swords, and rubberized tent stakes.
My pair of water-wings will be in use for most of the day by me. Bring your own floatation devices for yourself and your sprouts.
I've got some shoes with buckles, but I might not wear them.
It's going to be a fun day!

Tomorrow is Thursday, which means fighter practice will take place at Roger's Park on Dowlen. We had a great turn-out last week with many SCA info packets given out to visitors. I hope Lady Padraigin is there with my wax.

We also have a demo scheduled in Orange Texas during September,. All the details aren't ironed out yet so I'll let the coordinators post them when their ready.

HE Santiago
