WOW another great meeting. A BIG, BIG thank you to HE Valencia who spoke on St George. He is dear to her heart and we all learned so much. She brought cookies that she had made in the shape of the St George flag along with posters and literature to look at. The cookies were a great touch and very good. Vivat Valencia!
All officer report there in good standing.
Bordermarch has two new officers. Countess Tessa will be our new Hospitilier and Lord Zain our new Night Marshal. We are sure they will do a fine job and we look forward to working with them both. Another BIG,BIG thank you to L. Slovaczek who has been Hospitilier for eons. It is not an easy job but he put many many years and much of his energy into this position. Again many thanks L. Slovaczek and no you can't leave water bearing yet:) L. Godrick as many know had a motor vehicle accident last Nov and has been unable to fulfill his position as Night Marshal. He remains active and we look forward to the day he wears his armour again. Vivat to all four!
Bordermarch has purchased two new white pop up tents, as well as three outdoor rugs to be used for events and court. We have also asked each officer to fill in our itemized check list of Baronial supplies so we can get a better handle on what we have and where it is. We are looking at updating many of the items that have fallen apart. If you have any items that belong to the Barony please let us know and we will be happy to take them off your hands. Our garage is fast becoming "the" storage unit. We have things categorized and ready to use which is making eventing much easier.
Baronials is next Sat May 9th. Gates open at 7 am. We will be setting up Friday night and would appreciate any and all help. Remember it's at the Winnie Rice Festival park not in Woodville. There are three classes scheduled and room for more. MOC will be there for the children. Championships are in Chivalric, Rapier and A&S. L. Elrique is doing a wonderful feast for everyone that attends at no extra charge. Donations have been made and are still being accepted.
Many, many thanks in advance to L. Padraigin for her dedication to stewarding this wonderful event. You have been a God send!
June will bring a Bordermarch A&S Day here at our home in Silsbee. L. Nikolai is heading that project up and is looking for volunteers to teach classes in all areas of the SCA. Date will be announced soon. There is plenty of room to have fighter practice, archery, woodworking, bow making(if you dare), sewing, banner making/painting, calligraphy, illumination, cooking and so on and so on....Bordermarch Prepare!
So you see it was another great meeting and Bordermarch remains busy.
See you all at Baronials and we thank you all for your help and support.
God's Grace,
Santiago and Elisabeth
