A courier thundered into my humble reclusive hamlet, and I greeted him with my accustomed hail, "You seek Floda?" Although I am old and slow of step, my wits remain keen, and the courier's missive raised grave doubts about one of Bordermarch's own. It seems that our stalwart Nomis of spyful reflections and ready wit has acquired royalist aspirations..... Word has come that he has been frequenting a local throne more than his normal want, gaining a longing for such a seat and foreshadowing perhaps of days to come. More, our Nomis has installed a grand palace from which his lovely daughter can throw many balls. Perhaps in the hopes of attracting noble eyes and gaining dynastic affiliations that can augment her father's designs???? Rumors also whisper of Nomis of supping ale and talking furtively with former kings. Ah, could it be the plot thickens? Perhaps Bordermarch's esteemed Baron and Baroness should gauge the change in the way the wind blows and muster a guard to stand against shadows of errant and unfulfilled desires....????? How would Nomis sing to that blessed old tune, "The Rack of Ages?" Would it be such a stretch of the imagination to discover those dread rumors were indeed heartfelt aspirations? Could we bear such pain? Alas and alack, if this be truly founded.,...then the only fragrance that remains to honor's rose....is the rotting corpse of misplaced ambition.

So says Floda ....................
