[Bordermarch] Stuff

I would never harm a baby deer; I have been raising one that resembles a great Dane for the last twelve years.

Your list of plantings is quite extensive. Would any of those listed be, hmmm--how do we say this, Poisonous!
How convenient for you to have plants within arms' reach that could be used by any skilled young assassin to concoct a poison nectarine jam, or perhaps a purple passion flower honey cake that would constrict the throat of any who might taste it!
Would a young assassin know that if one extracts a flower from the bottlebrush bush, then soaks it in tartar of jalapeno juice until it's swollen, then dries it out, that it will explode with great force when exposed to a brilliant mind!

One's happiness is relative to one's state of mind and their perception of the world around them. I am happy to just walk to my poor fruit tree and squeeze the limes. I find great joy whenever I raise my head and spy the shiny thing nestled among the leaves. My life is a very simple life and I strive to shed complications whenever I can. I do not grow things like peas that could be used by those with impure hearts to cause suffering and destruction to others.

I did notice that even though you have a multitude of plants in your possession Lady Colecte, there was nary a mention of a lime tree, one of the most difficult of things to domesticate!

As you well know, I possess a lime tree!

HE Santiago

Your Excellency,

Young Carlos has read your response and has this to say:

"I think we should try to kill a deer with my bow and arrows."

I then asked him what he thought about your mistaken idea that he is only six years old and in kindergarten.? He replied as follows:

"I think Santiago would probably kill a baby deer.....something he shouldn't kill."

As for my poor, young grapevine, it has little to do with you.? I planted it for my own happiness.? But, if you are concerned that I placed it into the ground in our backyard without letting you know first, I will be happy to list some of our other plantings:? tomatoes, peas, jalapenos, sunflowers, nectarines, weeping willow, Texas Fan Ash, crepe myrtle, bottlebrush bush, oak, Mexican petunia, Texas wildflowers, creeping ivy, lavender, rosemary, purple passionflower, gardenia, climbing rose.....shall I continue?? If you would like to compete regarding the growth of any of these plants, I am glad to oblige.

Yours in service,

Carlos' Momma

Unto M'lord Carlos the Dominator,

Unfortunately, I can't do it today because I have to go to work, and you need to
go to your kindergarten class.

You being but six years old means nothing to me, I shall begin my practicing in
earnest when I get home this very evening.

Your many attempts to assassinate me during last year's Gulf War failed
miserably because I've been secretly studying the mystical martial art know as;
"Nodysoon".

By the way, tell your momma, Lady Colecte the Shocker, that I discovered that
she has been secretly growing a grapevine on a poorly handcrafted trellis. I'm
sure she was going to let the vine flower with bunches of sweet grapes, and then
let all the world know that she is a better grape grower than me! Tell her that
I scoff in reserved silence at her attempt to shame me just because her young
assassin son cannot complete her simple order to assassinate the baron!

As much as I dislike the thought of spying on you and your conniving momma, I am
forced to utilize the Seventh Hand of Kebol's Assassin's Guild to ward my back
until a fair competition can be arranged. We shall soon see which of us is truly
the best archer of all time!

A very tired runner arrived at the Manse late last night and endeavored to
deliver a verbal missive. The message was too garbled to make any sense of it,
and the runner said that he was not privy to its author. I pondered on the
message and finally realized that it was sent from you and your momma to
distract my supreme concentration on our upcoming competition.

I shall expect more attempts from you and your momma to shame me, but I will
persevere, and in the end it will be Carlos the Dominator, and his momma, Lady
Colecte the Shocker, who's shadows shall fade to nothing as the brilliance of my
glory grows closer!

HE Santiago

Greetings Bordermarch,

Fighter practice tonight at Roger's Park, 7:00pm.

HE Elisabeth and I will be journeying to Defender of the Fort in Huntsville this

Saturday. It's about a two hour drive from our house, but we always get lost.
We'll be leaving around 5:30am which will give us time to stop for a snacky.
We're going to the event to help Raven's Fort any way we can because of their
unwavering support of Bordermarch during BAM.
We will be day-tripping this event and will be traveling light.

The rain has slowed my many projects these last few days, but I have finalized
the design of the new Blacksmith shop. Since some large bridge timbers will be
utilized in the shop's construction, you might receive an invite for crumpets
and tea at the Baronial Manse
in the not too distant future.

I had intended to make my own medieval style arrows to match my bow, but I
couldn't snag any geese for the fletching; I opted to purchase a few arrows
instead.
I shall now challenge my nemesis, M' lord Carlos, to a shoot-off. I would like
to recreate a period atmosphere during the shoot-off with an apple placed on
Lord Adolf's big-old-water head as a target.
The period archery competition will allow me to once again wear my green spandex

tights. The tights were part of my stage costume during my early years as a
musician, I retired them just before I met my lovely Lady Elisabeth. Elisabeth
is not the jealous kind, but the green tights use to drive the women crazy! I
wish I had a Robin Hood hat, but I don't. I'll probably just use a green hunting

sock on my head.

I asked our grape expert Lord Aaron Whitewolf, about my m
iserable little grape
vine that never produces grapes, he gave me some sage advice. He told me that
the grape vine is not producing any grapes because there something
wrong,--WOW!!, what a wizard! He did say I need to pluck and prune something,
and take it out of the coffee can I'm using as a planter pot. Is it
self-pollinating or not? I don't know. Do I need to mate it up with another
grape
vine of the opposite sex? I don't know. I bought the vine at Wal-Mart, it
came with no instructions. Until I figure this out I will continue to purchase
grapes.

I squeezed my limes yesterday and they were still hard; I guess I have to wait
before I can put the lime in the coconut and shake it all up.

HE Santiago
