I made a simple chemise-style dress, that I did wear for Evening Court at BAM.
 
The material was a stretchy-velvet burnout type, in a burgundy/wine color...I cut a pattern from another chemise I had purchased online...the material presented quite a challenge, yet I managed to finish in time for BAM! It wears well with or without an overdress.
