Also I just signed up a set of Classes for BAM for making grab and sewing. Here's the scoop:
======================================================
Early Period Garb Cutting and Construction:
How to fit your clothes so that you don’t look like you are wearing a sackcloth.

This class is basically going to offer the following:
Cutting out Early Period garb (which will consist of the following)
How to measure yourself for the best fit
Preparing your Fabric
Cutting your fabric
basic stitches to sew your pieces together
hand finishing your garment
This is the ONLY class where all students interested will need to bring their own fabric, with the following amounts based on what they want to cut: 60" is preferred, but if only 45" then add 1 yard to each amount. They need to pre-wash their fabric before attending the class. The suggested fabrics are linen, wool, cotton, or blends of them; NO STRETCHY MATERIALS PLEASE.
basic t-tunic (no gores or gussets) 5 yards
basic tunic (WITH gores/gussets) 6 yards
basic thjorsberg pants (baggy crotch pants) 5 yards
Rus “poofy” pants with/without leg extension 6 yards
basic t-tunic dress (no gores or gussets) 6 yards
basic t-tunic dress (WITH gores/gussets) 7-8 (depending on ladies size)
basic apron dress (with two sets gores) 4-5 yards (depending on ladies size)
That sounds like a LOT of fabric, but one of the things I like to do is get people to see what they can do with the "scraps", which I am thinking to have them swap pieces with one another for cuffs and facings.
I will have some "play" fabric and some pattern paper if people just want to take the class and then go home and make their own.
I will also have around 15 “sets” of 5 yard cloth sets that can be purchased for 15.00 each, should anyone want to start with that. Again, those are first come, first serve.
Donations are also accepted here as well.

Now all of this sounds a bit overwhelming, but I usually start with the garb making class, which lasts 2-3 hours (times does fly when you are having fun)
Once the “garb” has been done, then the embroidery classes show how to embellish or finish your garb into something a little more refined. Each embroidery class is usually 2 hours, and I start at the basic and go on to the more advanced stitches. A lot of people come in on the one and stay throughout.
Oh! You Sew and Sew! I
5 basic (and period) stitches to get you through your SCA experience
Without pulling out your thread or your hair 

Materials provided for 30 class members (enough for more though)
Donations accepted (I will explain about this in a bit)

Oh! You Sew and Sew! II

5 MORE basic (and period) stitches to get you through your SCA experience
And still no Hair or Thread pulling 

Materials provided for 30 class members (enough for more though)
Donations accepted (I will explain this too)

Oh! You Sew and Sew! III

5 MORE basic (and period) stitches to get you through your SCA experience
to make everyone GREEN with envy! 
Tying all of your stitches together and looking FABULOUS!

Materials Provided for 30 class members (enough for more though)
Donations accepted (again…explanation later)

If there is no garb available perhaps she could find a peasant type skirt, blouse and baggy pants at a resale shop and add a scarf as a belt...the story line for this Melees is very pirate like. I have also completed 3 black Bordermarch tabards that will be available to wear over mundane clothing. Just a belt would be

needed. Hope that helps.
