[Bordermarch] A Blessed Event

I was blessed in so many ways during our recent sojourn at Ravens Fort's Defender of the Fort event that even now it is hard to remember all the details---but I'll try;

We took our granddaughter with us.

We only had to turn around once on the way there because we forgot her diaper bag.

I don't feel bad about turning around because Sir Simonn and Lord Zane also forgot something and had to turn around.

HE Don Armand rode with us to the event.

The heat at the event was not so bad, but the grass was dry and crunchy.

After setting up the shade pavilion and our chairs we noticed the shade was not under the pavilion. I feel blessed because the ladies had arms and legs and enough energy to move their chairs into the shade.

Lord Adolf, Lady Colecte, m'lady Abby, and m'lord Carlos were able to take a break from milking their goats to join us for the day.

I feel blessed that I was able to witness Lord Adolf's oversized head smash into the tent's framework.

I feel extra blessed that Lord Adolf saw me witness his accident!

HE Don Armand stated emphatically that he was not going to fight at the event.

HE Don Armand ended up fighting about 25 fights at the event.

Three of our Bordermarch Champions were present at the event; Sir John of Severn, He Don Armand, and Ronald Fitz Robert.

I felt blessed to see my 1.5yr old granddaughter, Emma, give her bottle to a young lady attending the event, in return, Emma took the young lady's cell phone and hauled her booty back to our pavilion! The young lady was unaware that in Emma's eye's a half full bottle of semi hot milk is a fair trade for a cell phone.

I witnessed HE Elisabeth lean too far back in her chair and almost fall over backward. She blamed it on me. She said I had broke the chair. She is probably right.

I was fortunate enough to observe Lady Colecte work on her needle work at the event. She was using some very fine yarn spun from the silky auburn beards from young goats. I believe she was making a tarp.

I watched as HE Don Armand came to the pavilion for a break after a bit of fighting. When he tried to strike up a conversation with anyone who would listen. Don Pete yelled at him from across the lyst, "Armand!!! Stop yakking and get back out here and fight!"

Ravens Fort food is the best!

HE Suzanne Beraud, the beautiful Baroness of Bjornsborg, volunteered to teach me how they eat cactus in Bjornsborg, but as she was about to go into the details Baron Philippe, her not so beautiful mate, decided that he would make me come to their fall event to learn about the fine art of eating cactus.

HE Rhiannon, the beautiful Baroness of Loch Soilleir, was blessed to see me perform my Middle Eastern rain dance, soon after it started raining.

I was blessed to witness a cold front blow into camp just prior to the rain. The wind that came with the front lifted our pavilion into the air. Lord Adolf grabbed one leg of the airborne pavilion while remaining seated in his portable recliner.
Sir Simonn bolted from his seat and shouted, "I've Got It!, I've Got It!"
When I grabbed the pavilion leg that Sir Simonn was trying to grab I saw him running off towards the lyst field with his head down and arms grabbing at something not there, all the while still shouting, "I've Got It! I've Really Really Got It!"

I am blessed that we made it home without getting lost.

HE Santiago
