Avery - thank you for your very detailed response to our confusion but
I'm afraid, for the most part, I am still confused - please allow me
to elaborate ...
We have discussed on numerous occasions the desire to do more than
'shoot at targets' every Sunday, and have been told that 'someone'
would come out to our Sunday practice to put us on the right track to
do more - but to date, other than vague passing comments, has told us
exactly what is required of us in the way of training and
authorization.
Now I also understand fully that it's also incumbent upon us to take
some initiative to find this information and act upon it, but mostly I
think we have. The number of archers showing up on Sundays has
exploded and have actually had a number of very experienced people
join our ranks - but again we can only do so much without proper
guidance.
I would also like to state that I very much appreciate, as Steward,
your personal interest in making some clarifications to our concerns,
and also very much appreciate the possibility of making some changes
to the event (if I read your post right) so that we all can, in some
way, participate - but if I may, this extends well beyond just this
event - we'd like to move forward with getting the required
certification so that we may participate in 'any' event. The fact
that our Baronial event is coming up quickly just hi lites the fact
that we are not certified.
As much as the 'collective' we appreciate the fact that the event may
change to accommodate the lack of our own combat certified archers
does not change the fact we are not certified and we very much would
like to be - thus we need, as with the heavy fighters, someone to take
an active interest, up and above that which we already have, in making
sure we have the means to do so.
With respect --
Rhiannon verch Ioan
