No, it sounds like he's the Kingdom Archery Marshal and is telling
everyone what's required to become an authorized combat archer. Knowing
Pug, I'm sure he'd be thrilled to have more combat archers trained up
around here. I would also like to see that.

But Kingdom law is Kingdom law, and he's the man charged with enforcing
the Kingdom and Society rules pertaining to combat archery. What Pug
wants doesn't signify here; what does is what his duties as KAM require.

There's no way in Hell he's going to bend the rules on authorizing
combat archers. If he did, he wouldn't deserve his office, which he most
certainly does.

When I decided to become a combat archer I had to practice several times
before I could authorize. Heavy fighters ususally have to practice for
several practices before they are comfortable enough with the rules to
safely fight, and thus be authorized. Don't expect Pug to wave a magic
wand and say 'poof, you're a combat archer'.

Can we do more to help authorize? Sure. I've already told Jason that I'm
willing to help out, but one heavy fighter doesn't make a melee, and you
have to fight in melees with CA to learn CA. Period. If we want to teach
combat archers we need fighters for them to fight with.
