To which Eule offers:
Since equestrian keeps being used as a parallel, let me add a bit to
Jason's post.  Currently, we do not have a regularly scheduled eq.
Practice in Bryn Gwlad (Young Master Chretien and myself, however, are
working on that). However, based on the equestrian rules, one can become
authorized by having an authorizing marshal watch you ride....it does
not have to be at an official event  (although certainly more
convenient, it is not necessary).

That being said, if someone wants to become authorized for equestrian,
simply make arrangements with an authorizing equestrian marshal.
