brynhildr,

I need about 100 of them. 24 (estimated number of kids) x 4 (number of sticks) + a few in case.

I'm not going to be at Populace in the Park this week but I should be there next week. Could I get the twigs then (so I have a few days to test the activity before running it)? If this is inconvenient the day of the event is fine. The activity will start about 3pm but I would like to set things up about 2:30.

On a personal note and its definately ok if you don't wish to I wouldn't mind a few to make a set of rune sticks as well if you were willing to spare them.

thanks for your kind offer to the kids.

  Hey Vilhiálmr,

I have a bucket of just such twigs in my garage.* Apple wood from our old
tree in Michigan. Suckers, so they are perfectly straight.
How many? How ahead of time? Or just bring 'em the day of, plenty early?
Let me know.

(*I make sets of runesticks -- like the ones in this picture, brought into
SCA practice by Mistress Arwen of the East Kingdom [who studied runes in
Norway decades ago] --

out of these twigs, but trust me, there are plenty left in the bucket, after
having made half a dozen sets or so. [Just made a set for a medievalist
colleague here at UT. Now maybe she'll stop borrowing mine. . .])
