The Artifice of Beauty: A History and Practical Guide to Perfumes and
Cosmetics

 

It is a really cool book that includes some recipes and a very well
researched (at least as far as I can tell) history going back to ancient
times. I've made it as far as the early middle ages. The author even
researched the use of color on fingernails and how to achieve a similar look
(but I think I'll stick with my OPI polish for now). So far, I'm only to the
early middle ages and I'll be happy to offer a full critique later.

 

Oh, I also bought myself a lot of really pretty wide whale corduroy at
JoAnn's for garb.does that count?
