I agree! In our local ancient Roman group, The Roman Way, we meet for lunch every month at an Italian restaurant. Casual atmosphere, good conversation - it can't be beat! We don't hit anyone with sticks, though. ;-)

I'm such a relative newcomer to the SCA myself, I'm not sure how much help I can be, but this is a worthy goal. I'll pitch in however I can.
