Along these same lines...

While visiting my parents in Beaumont this weekend, I came across the
following announcement in the local newspaper:

The Beaumont Enterprise
Sunday, July 2, 2006
pg 10d

New Exhibitions
Texas Artists Museam

The Society for Creative Anachronism, a historical reenactment group,
will present artisan showcases of illumination, armour, jewelry,
heraldry, costuming and calligraphy, in an exhibit opening Wednesday at
the Texas Artists Museum, 3501 Cultural Cetner Drive in Port Arthur.

The exhibit, which will be on view through July 28, includes work in
leather, needle, wood and metals.

The exhibit is coordinated with the museum's ArtSmart summer camp for
children, "Medieval Madness: The World of Knights, Maidens and Jousts,

What a fabulous idea! Perhaps this is something that we could do in
Bryn Gwlad as well?

Subject: [Bryn-gwlad] Newcomers... The Quest Begins

Greetings to all,

Over the past couple of days I've read all the posts, and comments
pertaining to a subject that is important to us all. Allow me to present
my two cents. :)

I am aware that membership dropped, and I'm wanting to help in the
situation, thats why I asked to become Lord Charles deputy. So in order
to get the ball rolling, and encouraing the barony to participate I'm
gathering ideas that the populace would like to see started or worked
on, and perhaps implemented on how to attract, and keep members. I'm all
ears. I'm very excited about some of the prospects we coming forth, and
am wanting to do more if possible. From everything I've read, it seems
that a lot of people have an opinion on the matter. Tell me your ideas.

I do look forward to doing more to help the Barony and am looking
forward in interesting more people in this hobby of ours.
